La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero 654

6"x54 Robusto Profile

When I was having a lot of trouble finding my Indian Tabac Super Fuerte cigars, I asked Ron Lesseraux (the owner of Serious Cigars) for his opinion on a really powerful, spicy cigar that I might try as a replacement.  He thought for a moment and then suggested the Double Ligero line from La Flor Dominicana.  Well, he was able to come through for me on my Indian Tabac order but I came back a few days later and lit up a Double Ligero 654 in his smoking lounge to see why he made such a strong suggestion to try the La Flor Dominicana cigar.

First of all, this is a good looking cigar.  It's a dark, well constructed, great tasting cigar.  I have to say that it is a much higher quality cigar than the Indian Tabac while providing a strong peppery flavor profile.  It burns perfectly, something I can't say about the Indian Tabac cigars.  This is a great cigar to smoke after meals since it might prove to be a bit strong on an empty stomach.  Also, take your time with this cigar.  Smoking it quickly just means that you'll ruin the strong taste with extra heat.

In case you haven't read between the lines, this cigar has definitely replaced the Indian Tabac cigar collection in my humidor.  Litto Gomez is my hero for bringing this spicy beast to the market.  Check out the La Flor Dominicana website at your first opportunity!
